Active Hope Co-learning group
I've been meaning to complete the Active Hope Foundations Training for a while, but never found the time.
The course, based on the book by Jonanna Macy and Chris Johnstone uses the Work that Reconnects Framework, helping us to strengthen our capacity in facing the multiple crises across our world.
With Joanna Macy's recent passing, it feels right to prioritise completing this course, but also to call in others to "learn out loud" with me.
The Active Hope Foundations Training course is available online for free, but if you're anything like me you may have signed up to free courses before and not got further than week 1.
My hope with this co-learning group is that we will;
hold each other accountable, completing the 60-90 minutes of course content each week;
collectively deepen our learning and understanding, sharing insights, alternative perspectives and lived experiences to bring the course content to life
Build a sense of community through the 7 weeks, sharing our key learnings we will take into the world
Timing
The co-learning group will start the w/c 8th September, with Zoom calls taking place on Thursdays;
Thursday 11th September 12-1pm BST (UTC+1)
Thursday 18th September 12-1pm BST (UTC+1)
Thursday 25th September 12-1pm BST (UTC+1)
Thursday 2nd October 12-1pm BST (UTC+1)
Thursday 9th October 12-1pm BST (UTC+1)
Thursday 16th October 12-1pm BST (UTC+1)
Thursday 23rd October 12-1pm BST (UTC+1)
It's encouraged that you will have read/watched most of the Active Hope course content before the Zoom call if possible. I will facilitate the calls, picking out key themes from the course materials, encouraging reflections and sharing of experiences to bring the course to life for everyone in the co-learning group.
Cost
The Active Hope Foundations course is available for free, with a "Pay it forward" approach, coming from a starting point of gratitude. Paying it forward by extending thanks not just to those that created the course but spreading this gratitude to others, disrupts prevailing narratives and shifts perspectives.

My time is offered in line with the Gift Economy, meaning I offer my time freely to support you and the wider group because this support my right livelihood calling. If you have found the co-learning group supportive and helpful you will have the opportunity to donate money to me as a gift. The amount is completely up to you; a guideline can be an amount that feels generous but doesn't hurt you. Using the pay it forward approach, if you not in a position to support me financially you can show your gratitude through exchange, writing a testimonial or sharing my work with others.
